Well after copping a bashing from Marc and how good the gay fish are, how they breed and everything thats gay about them. I started reading up on them and found myself hooked on gay fish. I've breed Natives and Trout before in my hatchery, which is now pulled down as I've moved and no longer have the room to set it back up. So I'm going back to my roots, I kept a few tanks from the hatchery and I'm looking around for a few more as well. I'll post them as I get them.

This is my 4x2x2, I picked up a week ago with stand and filter. I order a fx5 which I should have this week, as the filter that came with the tank is a little on the cheap side. I also made a new stand and will line it with stain timber over the next week or two. I picked up some sand and white rock and a T5 light.

This tank will house my little zaire blues a few Yellows and some deep water Electras.

Nice neat setup, but would it be wiser to add some cross bracing to the stand across the sides and rear???

Just over cautious thats all. :)

Joz, the stands made from 35mmx35mmx3mm thick steel. I looked into it and it takes 190kg to bend it back on it self. Add up 6 x 190kg =1140kg and thats if it was side on. My tank with rock is only max 500kg. So I've over killed it a bit. Joz, good pick up, to many people dont do the maths. I've seen tanks of 800+kg on stands made from 25mmx25mmx1mm thick steel with no bracing, thats asking for a wet floor. The down weight on the steel I used is 3.something tonne.

Jool's, the T5's are a great light. Anyone know what they are selling for?

Sloory, I have 6 small Zaire's to date. They are F1's, I'll will be getting a few wild caught once I have the $$$ and a 8x2x2. The ones I have now are 1" to 3" long. I'll post up some pic's soon.

NO probs,I just worry about someone giving it a sideways nudge.
I can see that the steel would have no probs on downforce.
It's just that it was the first thing that I thought of and I'd feel terrible if I hadn't mentioned it and something happened.

Good work BTW :)
