Does anyone know where I can get bichirs?
I've seen a couple fully grown ones going for $300+
But I'm looking for juvi's around $150-

Also, does anyone know lfs near doncaster that stock "rare" fresh water fish?
Talking about ropefish, dragon gobies, clown knifes, rays, jaradinis etc etc..

(Saratoga) jardini you can get from time to time at Coburg Aquarium. I have heard that Rayone has Clown Knives, but whether they're for sale or not is another thing. It's not local, but Amazing Amazon had a juvinile Polypterus senegalis (I'm pretty sure it was) not too long ago, and they also have some weird things from time to time (freshwater Moray's & L-number cats ect.). I'm pretty sure (Lee?) at V&L collects and breeds Birchirs and Polypterus, but you probably won't see them in his store. As such, what he wants price-wise may not suit your budget. These are "rare" fish after all :)

Give amazing amazon on springvale road a shot. They have some pretty rare stuff in atm like motoro rays - so cute!, panaques, l201's etc and a huge native display tank. The people there know their fish and are very nice.

Subscapes also good but a tad far. Was there about 4 weeks ago. Had birchirs - Alibinos too, L-catfish l260, l333, l134, l104 etc, and other nice south american type fishies.

keysborough Aquarium would also be worth a look. I think they have stocked birchirs - Not too sure, but they do have nice stuff like pike cichlids, large colony of frontosas, giant gouramis, exotic goldfish! :) and one bloody big reef display tank with sharks.

I visit that place so often as a pitstop when i go down to springgy to satisfy my hunger for some nice pho or other asian delicacies haha ^_^

Cheers

Johnny :)
