I've been visiting this forum for a few weeks and I liked the look of it so I just joined up so I thought I'd say hi, hi, aussie natives are my passion, got 2 tanks a 6x2x2 with a barra 55cm (due to go home soon), 45cm sleepy cod, 35cm aussie bass, 15-20cm spangled perch, and a 50 cm salmon tail catfish the other tank has some livebearers in it (platies, mollies, sailfins, swords) also a couple of white clouds, 2 bristlenoses a cray and a freshwater crab, yeah i know they arn't natives but the missus wants a tank with some colour, it works out okay cause when there's too many in there they beome feeder fish. looking forward to talking to you guys in the future.

Hey mate, and welcome to the forum :)
Yeah, we looked after a massive one at work once Dazz, his name was the General, he used to do similar things. They're awesome fish if you're looking for more of a "pet", I guess you'd say.

Yeah they are all in the same tank. I don't have any dramas with them all together as they have all grown up together, out of all of them the spangled perch is the most aggresive, sometimes he even has a go at the barra but most of the time they all get along nicely. I can hand feed my barra, salmon tail and my sleepy I give them frozen prawn, i buy a couple of kilo from woolies, freeze them defrost what i need and away we go, lasts me for a couple of months. On the weekends they get live food, goldfish, gudgeons, crays and shrimp, As soon as I get a camera that can take decent pics I will post some

Ive had them for a couple of years unfortunatly my barra died about amonth ago (really spewin), slowly had to progress up in tank size as they have all grown, got a new barra (about 10cm) he is in a tank by himself at the moment until he gets abit bigger to be able to handle himself and also so he doesn't end up in someones belly
