im soo psyked one of my pairs of hermichromis lifalili have laid eggs and are the first fish i have managed to breed exept for guppies LOL.

i was so exited when i saw the eggs.

just a quick query should i seperate the babies from the parents when they hatch they are in a three foot tank that is divided basically in half to seperate my young jewel pairs and my rainbow pair from my large jewels, but the divider has holes in it so the babies can get through. i would prefer to keep the babies with the parents as to slow down their breeding cause i know once they start they dont stop, but yeah any advice as to whether or not to move the babies in to another tank and the best time and method for doing so would be great.

cheers

No probs,as a rule I think fertilised eggs stay an amber color until you see the embryo forming.

The unfertilised eggs turn white as they're attcked by fungus, good parents remove the bad ones while continually fanning the eggs washing a fresh light current over them.
This way the good eggs develop properly..
