media filter tray order.

i was given a orca external filter and i have just pulled it apart to give it a good clean out and it seems to me that the media has been put back in in the incorrect order as the finest media tray first followed bt the least finest then the noddles and then the second finest.. what order shouled they be in or should i just leave it as it seems to be working just fine......

Personally, I always put the bio media last, just to keep it clean. Everyone has their preferences though, you just need to find something that seems logical, and suits what you're trying to do.

most logical thing that comes to mind is coarse to smooth.
doesn't matter where you have your bio media.
as long as it gets a fair bit of water flow through it.

Putting it last though, will increase contact time and encourage denitrification.
