hey guys,
im looking at getting 5 or 6 native rainbows and was wondering if once they reach full size if they eat smaller fish like the neons. cant seem to find any info on it..
any info will be great.

If they are anything like the ones I have at work, they will. You could sit there and feed them constantly and I don't think they'd ever stop. With juviniles I don't think you'll have too much of a problem, but from what I've seen adult rainbowfish will eat anything that fits in thier mouths.

most rainbows top out at four to six inches.
neons make it a too easy breakky.
but growth is fair slow.

I would have to agree, I have tried to put a school of neons in my rainbow tank and the disaster was quick!
i think there are 2 neons left out of 20 , so i guess they are the quicker or smarter ones lol
