Most plants won't care about temperature too much (unless you're keeping them outside), as the ambient temperature of most houses is usually sufficient. As SMCK001 has suggested though, some fish are simply too destructive for much more than Anubias.
If you're keeping standard tropicals or goldfish though, I'd reccomend Echinodorus (Sword) species or other heavy root-feeding species such as Vallisneria or Aponogeton's. Substrate enrichment tablets will help make keeping these plants much easier :)

i have 4 baby bristlenose, 2 congo tetra's, a school of neons and 2 swordtails at the moment. i plane to get more "exotic" fish down the track like discus but want to get my tank set up right way before i do this. are there any fish to avoid with plants as they will chomp them?

your bristlenose might be a problem.
other than that, given sufficient lighting and "feeding".
a fully planted tank would be more than possible.
crypts and anubias and dwarf pongols are pretty easy to care for and bristlenose tend to steer away from them.
mosses and most of your fast growing taller plants (wisteria, ambulia etc..)
then there are your more delicate plants like your lace ferns and bolbitis.
