hello All,
at the moment i have 4, 5cm bristlnose catfish, the problem i have is that i will be getting Discus soon and have been told that its not a good idea to have bristles in the tank with them. so i am looking at getting Oto catfish instead, how many oto's should i get for a 4 ft tank?
unless someone has keep Bristles with discus i would love to no about it.

I don't believe it should be a problem at all.
I suppose on occassion you may get a rogue bristle nose but it s not the norm.

The common sucking cats can be more annoying.

I agree with Joz. I can't see a problem with it. I have kept numerous Bristlenoses with a school of Discus without any worries. Actually I have a small colony in my tank at the moment with a group of discus and that has not caused any problems.

ive got 6 discus in a 4ft tank that i keep with 4 bristlenose. they get along fine, both species just go about their own business. you won't have a problem.

Oakleigh Aquarium imports them ,so worth a look.

Also the last time I was Bunnerong Aq in Frankston they had some stunning large discus at reasonable prices.
Maybe give them a tingle.

plecos of all sorts can quite easily develope a bad habit of trying to feed on the slime coat of both angels and discus if they are not propperly fed. if the are fed well and have a balanced died they will not even think about touching them, they dont attack out of mallace, just hunger
