Keep us up to date on your progress mate , i'm sure there are lots of members that have wanted to get discus but have been to concerned about putting them in a community tank , or just plain scared that they are too hard to keep.

blackworms do the best. just make sure you put em in the fridge so they aren't too lively when you drop em in a feeding cone

Unfortunately i've had bad expereiences with black worms introducing paracites.
Frozen blood worm is a fav of them but only once they have grown a bit, also live brine shrimp.

Don't know why I've never put blackworms and parasites together,

not frozen ones of course.
i reckon brine shrimp would be really good for discus.
brings out the reds and yellows.

Not sure why but I have had sime hit and miss with blackworm.
The discus love them no doubt, but once the fish are infested with gill fluke its a pain in the arse.
Just remember that discus tend to be more prone than other fish to parasites,so I wouldn't stress to much about blackworms with other fish at all.
Also another good reason to be careful where you get your discus stock from.A quarantine tank for new inmates is a good idea also.
But mine love live and frozen brine shrimp, frz bloodworm and also Frz beefheart mix there are a few about some with different things added like vege and fish meat.
Tetra Color Bits is also a fav of theirs.
