New filter

G'day all, im about to upgrade the canister filter on my tank 4x2x2 and was wondering what is the best was to cycle the new filter without disrupting the fish (Bass)? and how long should it take.

i would leave your existing filter inplace until the new one matures.
Alternatively place some of your existing filter material into the new filter cannister.
