hi guys, i am moving my cod into a 6footer and thus will have my 4 footer spare. what natives could i have in there together?

im after relatively active fish and maintenance free. open to all natives, but natives only. would prefer all fish to eat the same thing as it makes it easy to feed em. any suggestions??

are you after something to keep in there permanently or just for a couple of years till they outgrow it?

well i guess permanatley!!! but not too sure, nothing that will grow huge!!! i was thinking perhaps bass of yellas but dont want agression towards other fish, idealy would like at least 6- 7 fish in tank, with a few different species?!?!?!

well i have a 4ft tank with about 8 natives in it and about 2 of each sort. but i get them when they are small like 5cm and grow them till they are about 15cm and then sell them again, it takes about 12 months or less for them to get this big. as long as you keep them roughly the same size and have a lot of places for them to get away from each other they should be fine, i have a lot of driftwood and plants in my tank so it works well.

i would suggest fish species that i have had such as golden perch, silver perch, bass, spangled perch, tandanus catfish as these all seem to grow about the same rate and go well together. all these will get to over 30cm big but it wil take a while and if you end up wanting to keep them longer im sure u could keep a couple of ur favourite ones in the 4ft tank for an extra year and sell the others.
so u could get 2 of each of the above or just 3-4 of 2 different ones its really up to you.
others such as cod and barra seem to grow quicker and are more aggressive.

also i would not recommend a heater as they dont need it, they grow quicker with a heater and it costs extra money.

or there is the option of goin with somethin that doesnt get that big like rainbows or something like that which i dont know much about as i have never kept them. or there are things like archer fish which are pretty kool and dont get that big. or u could possible put these 2 together but am unsure as i havent kept them. u will have to ask someone else if u want more info on them or just do a google search.

tandanus work great. hardy and eagers eaters of anything
but most natives work pretty well.
avoid aggresive ones like sooties and most grunters.
