Hey All,

I put a breeding cave in my tank a couple of months back, and have been laying on the zucchini pretty regularly since, which has kept my 1M + 2F BN's very happy. Tonight I thought I'd shine a torch in the cave and found Mr B back there fanning his fins with a bunch of wrigglers behind him!

It's a 4 foot planted community tank, and I'm a bit worried about the larger tank mates (angels, bolivian rams). I don't really have an option for a fry tank ATM.

What's their chances of survival? How would I feed the fry in a community tank? Should I just put some zucchini around the cave entrance and hope they get some?

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers,

Walker

Well I decided to hedge my bets, and bought a $5 fry net which I have positioned in front of the filter outflow for a supply of clean water. It's a pretty fine mesh, so I don't think they'll get hassled in there.

I managed to siphon 9 fry out of the cave and put them in there, so I'll see how they go.

Yeah - mixing the gene pool can only be a good thing. I'll let you know when they grow a bit bigger, and you can give me some tips on how to catch the little buggers when they're in a planted tank ;)

P.S - It's Simon, but I usually go incognito :D

oh how embarrassing lol, well i trick i discovered the other day, its no %100 but it worked on the bn out of my big display 6ft, you remember that dont you lol,

i got the biggest net i could find and stuck a algae wafer and one of those spirulana tabs i showed you into the net and just lifted it out every 5 mins. mannaged to get a fair few of the larger ones out anyways.
