My house mate has a big gold edge riv. its looks to be about the same size as pete from tassie's.

A few weeks back it got that cotton ball fungus on it head and has been in treatment ever since.
He's looking a bit better but is always swimming with its head down.
It this an effect from the treatment or the sickness?

its being treated with Aqua Master Fungus Cure.

Its a real shame to see it like this because it is such a nice fish (or was) :( .

Could just be irritating him or it may have damaged his sensory pits... :-(

I'd treat the tank withe Pimafix or Melafix and make sure you raise the tem to 27 or so and remove any carbon from filters!!!

Good luck!
Pete.

Water changes with activated carbon filtered water, live food and add about 1/2 cup of rocksalt to about 50 litres of water.Make sure there are no cats in the tank if you add salt  :(

Just some suggestions for an ailling fish or one trying to recover.

I had to put the poor guy down last night :( .

He also turned out to have hole in the head.

I couldn't let this discusting suffering go on any longer!

I rang my house mate who has been working away during the week and told him i'm putting it down.

Its a crying shame as it was a great fish. :(

What a bugger, its bad enough when a fish dies in your tank without having to do the killing yourself :(
