Hi guys,
I've about 10 rummy adult sized noses in my community tank, some of them area looking really really fat, (i am guess time for spawning) but I found a site saying they only spawn in the dark and once hatched they on only eat "green water".
Can someone verify with me that this is indeed the case? I would be rather upset if they died because I had kept them in the dark for too long..

Rummynose can be hard to breed...iv had succses breeding them like i do bleeding harts you dont have to keep them in the dark for ages, maybe a day or 2 but obviously dont put them in full sun, generally as soon as they start eating you can take the cover off. Iv had great succses with infusion* but there are many other things out there as well, even egg yoke can be good sometimes...works well with glowlights and neon's.
GOOD LUCK

Thanks for the advice,
I've since given up on the breeding as I got hit with a massive rush of white spots.... as well as a whole heap of black brush algea again. Some how I have a feeling that it has to do with me adding 4 more discus to the tank.
Other family members got a little too excited and has been over feeding them for weeks without me realising. To make it worse my heater temperature gauge broke so my tank was at 40 degrees for a few days.. lost about 30 cardinal tetras.... (just my luck)
Now the tank is constantly looking Green with multi cure as well as a whole heap of Excel.
