This may help a few of you out. I have one running with 34 Deep water Electra fry in it and it works great. Eggs have hatched and the fry have around a week to go before I put then in a fry tank. Hope this helps :)
If you have never used a tumber before, set it up so the eggs a just moving from side to side. Same for the fry.

If you have another kind of tumber, let us know.

This setup works a treat. I have Frontosa eggs tumbling at the moment and Venestus ones too. Works a treat especially for fish that have been prone to spit their eggs rather than carrying to the full term.

Awesome Scott
Thats a beaut little set-up especially for the cichlids, might be a little small for a few hundred thousand yellas tho :)
If anyone has any of the really really old plastic softdrink bottles like TAB that used to have a black square base and a round bum. These are also really effective as egg tumblers.
Insert a small rigid pipe right down the centre with a T valve on top to control water flow. Connect one side of the valve to a submersible pump in a glass aquarium and using a bit of wire fix the bottle to the inside of the tank. Connect the otherside of the valve to a return pipe back into the aquarium.
Oh you will need to cut a hole in the top of the bottle to let water out, a mesh screen can be placed over it to prevent hatched fry escaping into the tank, or alternatively set-up the hatcher in your fry tank and let them swim out when hatched :)
A small water flow into the centre pipe will rotate the eggs in the bottom of the bottle and as it is round it keeps them moving constantly.
I'll post a pic when i get home from work :)

Hi Scott
Glad to see you liked the egg tumbler. Many cichlid breeders like the egg tumbler (http://www.sydneycichlid.com/egg-tumbler.htm) solution you chose. It is easy to put together with parts most fish keepers will already have at home.

The finished article looks just like a bought one!

It works a charm and in no time you will have tiny fry looking at you and wondering where they are going to swim when they get bigger.
