I have a small Bass of about 100mm that I have been feeding live guppies. I have tried a few other live foods including a cricket , earth worms and a small moth but all he will go for is the live fish. Now thats cool as its great to watch him chase these little fish down but there will come a time when he is going to have to feed on some dead food if he still wants to live with us. So I have bought some HBH brand super soft Krill to start weening him off the livies. So far over the past week I have been squishing some between my fingers and dropping it whole etc but he is just not interested. Whats the best way to do this? Should I just not feed him at all until he starts taking the krill? Its making a mess in the bottom of the tank with all this food just sitting there and i imaging there won't be too many bottom feeders who will be able to live in the tank with a bass. Would this be right?
Thanks Tim......and Ringo

i find starving the fish too hard to bear. try weaning him down to dead fish first. just chuck some live ones then a dead one or two. he'll get used to it. then after that, shove a small pellet or two in the dead fish. should take a week or two. if your water is on the chilly side. pump that heater up. get his digestive juices flowing.
