hi i was wondering if i could get some tips on how i can set a planted native tank
well i have 4 silver perch 4 bass 1 tandanus and some elodea

i want to ahve sand as gravel so its easy to clean and look natural
what other plants would u recommend for my tank and how often do they need trimming give all the tips of having a planted tank

elodea is not native i think but it is good. Aquagreen, Home of native Australian water plants for your aquarium.

sand yes it can be good if it's no more then 1cm thick
you can get a bild up of wast which will go black and is dedly

i would recommend a finer gravel rather than sand as said above. then u can also chuck some river pebbles on the top and it will look great. i use the pebbles around the bottom of the plants to hold them down. elodea is good and easy, also try val species, hornwort, wisteria, pennywort. aer a few. i have elodea, val and pennywort in my tank which look good.

thanks guys i will take that into consideration how many fish would be reccommended
for 4x14x18 tank ive already got one mc at 5cm 4 tandanus catfish@ 10 cm
and another small tany at 7 cm 1 silver perch at 8cm i sthis over stocked or not or could i have more

thats sounds about right... as for stocking.
