Hi everyone,
Some months ago, I purchased some Purigen to add to my filters for my tropical fish. While it works well and certainly keeps the water nice and clear by removing the tannins that come from my driftwood. I find it has worked better than carbon.
However, one of the main advantages of the product is that it can be 'recharged' every few months but I find the process fraught with dangers. So despite following the instructions to the letter, I often find that it does upset my water parameters when I replace the Purigen following a recharge.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks when using Purigen or can they recommend something that may be better? Or perhaps, I should go back to carbon?
Any help would be appreciated.
