hi everyone ive got bn babys in cave 4th day on egg sack tomorrow should be free swimming got a breeding box to put babys in if male is in the cave tomorrow do i remove him from cave and remove babys or do i wait:):):D

Is there other fish in the tank that will eat the babies? if not I just leave mine in the tank with the parents, they don't seem to try to eat them at all.

yes other fish in tank electric yellows pictus catfish electric yellows have had babys have 9 of these little babys and none of them have being eatin before what do you reckon risk it with bn babys or get them out looks like 50 also:)

if there are other fish in there , especially cichlids take them out or separate the tank with a mesh screen of some sort.

should i remove male from cave stil in there and take babys out? not going to upset him is it?

yep going to buy small 2 ft but have to cycle for at least 4 weeks is that right might have to put in breeding box tomorrow hopefuly al gose well

I would clean the new tank and use the water from your old tank in it, seed the filter you are going to use in the new tank with items from the existing tanks filter, bio balls wool etc. then id just put them in it
but thats me !!! slack as they come

Hi pulled them out of tank
Heres a photo of breeder box with babys 42 little ones
left a phew in the cave for male to look after maybe around 15
any advice what to do now would be geat looking after ect:):D

lol never ending i no water change water change got to set of babys going now 12 electric yellows from 4cm to 1cm
lol over 150 fish now

hey every1 ive got baby bn and i just wanted to knw wen i can take the male away frm the little bn.it wud be realy helpful sum of the baby bn r swimming but he is gaurding the rest.

dont worry let him guard they come out when ready even if daddys doing his best
expected heaps more babys from now on mine are every 3 weeks

mine seem to grow sooooo slowly, theres always tons of food and plenty of room in the 4 foot tank to grow but they still grow soooooo slowly :(

how long dose yours take to get to 3-4cm mine about 8 weeks

Yeah I would say so , I guess its just because there are soooo many new babies all the time they seem slow?

cute love baby bristlenose! Good idea about the tank i do that often if i have problems.

i currently have baby bristlenoses and moved the male with them. last night i put the femele back with him and they wouldnt leave each other alone... im hoping to expect more real soon
