Carbon ?

I have just being down to my lfs and there telling me that carbon is no
good for marine tank is this true ??

my carbon filter works brillant in my freshwater tank.

Carbon can be used for SW tank to clear up the water as it does with FW tanks.

I use carbon when I started up my tank to clear up the cloudy water. I also used it when I re-arranged the live rocks.

I bin the carbon after 2-3 months because they stop working.

not only do they stop working, but they also start leeching the contaminants back into the water.
