help please

i just set up a 2ft tank and ha ve one red fin in it i put the stuff that u use to get rid of the chemicles out of the tap water and my water is still merky maybe my filter is blocked any help out there thanks

What sort of filter are you running?
How big is the tank?
Did you clean the gravel b4 adding water to the tank?
