In preperation of moving plants into my new tank that is cycling atm. I want to prune away dead/dying leaves and then separate the clusters in order to produce more plants.
I was planing on removing the plants into a bucket of tank water and then working on them like that.
Would this have any adverse effects on the plant?
Thanks.

I do all mine on the coffee table out of the water, they can be out of the water for up to an hr sometimes i reckon with no ill effects, i do make sure they don't start to dry out of course!

That wouldn't present any problems at all.
But as Wombat suggested doing them out of the water would also be fine as long as they don't dry out.
