Hi I am currently treating my Angelfish in my hospital tank at the moment with a worm treatment, I did read on an Angelfish site on the net that I should also raise my temp to 95 F, I have done this but I'm very worried that this temp is to high, I'm just after advice to make sure I'm doing the right thing.
Thanks KAZ.

Hi Kaz
From what I have read, worms in an aquarium generally can't multiply as the tank environment misses the necessary intermediate hosts, eg molluscs and certain types of crustaceans required to complete their breeding cycle. Having said that I'm sure your angel is suffering :( :( !!
Other than treating it as you are, I have not read or heard anything about raising the water temp to 95F (about 35 C!!) and I suspect this would make the angel even more uncomfortable??
Good luck with the treatment, let us know how she goes.
Cheers

Thanks for your answer Go-Guppy, I ended up turning the temp down again almost straight away as it just did not feel right to do it when I'm not sure what the Angel has, I have since done lots of reading and it could also be Constipation, anyway she has been in the hospital tank for 24 hours now and there is no change, I am fasting her for the next few days in case it is Constipation, her main symptoms are the bloated stomach and she has been gasping for the last two day, I'm just hoping that there will be some improvement soon.

Hi Kaz, good luck with the angel, i would suggest that if any one feels the need to turn up the temperature that high that they cook some chips to go along with their fish!!

35'C is pretty darn hot for any fish. Also must remeber that there is alot less dissolved oxygen in water as the temperature rises. So if at anytime you need to raise the temp, add bubbles!
Sorry can't really help otherwise with the fish.

Yeah, I'd never raise any water above 32 or so for fish and as Joz says, up the oxygen!!!
Good luck!
Cheers,
Pete.

Are you sure it said to leave the fish in the tank when doing this? I think you'll fine that it's for killing the worms in your tank, not on the fish. You treat your fish and kill your tank, not both at the same time. I could be wrong
