Purchasing a large number for schooling, all to be introduced at the same time.

How many would be the maximum in a tank.

What issues could having a large number cause.

The bigger the tank, the more you can keep.

If you planing to keep it in that 8ft you got, then get about 20-30 of them. They look very nice.

Look at anthias as well when the tank has settled in.
