Hi all,
reasonably new to fish keeping, and after spending 20 bucks on cherry shrimp (aprox 15) today and watching my purple spotted gudgen devour them in about 4mins flat!!! :( im thinking i might go for a more "aussi" theamed tank,
so on the eye out for australian freshwater tropical fish, have a 4ft tank aprox 200L so suggestions would be appreciated for appropriatly sized fish
thanks cameron

hey cam,
imo, i dont think thatyou can go wrong with native rainbows!! they are beautiful, active and mostly hardy and the different varieties will school together so that way you can have 5 diferent variety rainbows rather that 5 of the same variety (for example) You could also go with blue eyes, they are smaller but just as active and beautiful.
If you are not looking to breed, i would highly reccommend you sort all males for your tank as they are more brightly coloured than the females in most cases.
hope this gives you some ideas...let us know what you decide.

Rainbows are probably the nicest looking aussie fish i think turquoise rainbows are really nice too but not sure if they are aussie or from newguinea , blues eyes are nice 2. Good Luck!
