scrags

Over the weekend I got the last bits I needed for a pressurised co2 system setup minus the auto cut off solenoid thing , So I’m turning the co2 off at night before I go to bed. Anyway, I fired it all up on Sunday and sat back and watched as the drop checker changed from slightly blue to bright green, at this point I backed off on the co2 a bit. When I went to bed the drop checker was green and there its stayed for the last day and a bit, but I have added very very little co2, what’s going on? Is there something else sending the PH south? The substrate I’m using is plain old river sand with a few tabs added. My KH is sitting at about 6, I can’t work it out. I have got some broken up coral in one of my filter baskets but I would have thought this would rise the PH if anything... could it be something else?
