HI guys
i am starting to get serious with my planted tanks and there a few different questions below! answer what you can

i was just wandering what you guys get best results out of? what fertilisers? how much Co2? do you use pressurised? or diy co2? or do you not use any? do you have a special substrate mix? use roots tabs?/ soil fert stuff? what makes your planted aquarium marvellous? just general tips and favourite ferts! anything you have to add would be appreciated!!!

a second question what size co2 tank would you buy for a 2 foot aquarium(60 litre)? or a nano(20-35l)? or possible running a dual system thing off the one co2bottle

say your budget is 3-400 hundred dollars? can you get anything worth wile with this money??

and also would the tank and valve below be all i need?(follow links) i have a filter that i currently pump/difuse my diy co2 with? could i just do the same thing but with the co2 bottle? i don't know much about pressurised co2 so any advice or a list of the required materials or a few different setup options would be appreciated! i don't have thousands of dollars to blow either so plz nothin to fancy just simple co2! (if there is such a thing)!!

G'day

The items you've listed look OK, you'll also need a bubble counter and proper diffuser and I would recommend Dupla, given their support they've provided me (see an earlier posting from me on this subject a few weeks back).

Add a iron test kit to your list, not for prevention against over fertilising, but more to make sure you add enough fertiliser!!! Plants really get hungry when they grow  .

You should use substrate fertiliser, as well as daily fertiliser added to the water.

I have a 30 inch tank and a 750gram tank, seems to last OK. I can't see why you should not be able to run two tanks off one bottle, but you'll need a second regulating valve, bubble counter and diffuser, I guess. I've had no need to try it, but maybe others in the forum have??

Good luck with it,
Cheers.
