Tha's a very nice looking goldfish tank.
Fish look very healthy as well. Well done.
BTW - I would move the pleco. They have no place in a tank with goldfish and may create prob's for you later ......

Joz
Quite a few plecos have been known to develop a taste for the slimecoat on fishes.
Sometimes so much so - that they will harrass a fish to the point where they are extremely stressed, and this may lead to their untimely departure.
It may not happen, but I've heard of this behaviour so many times from plecos, and this has also been reported by many other hobbyists on other forums. :(

Fair enough, its just that I've had both Sailfin and Albino Plecos in my Discus and communty tank with out dramas.
Sucking cats on the other hand have give me trouble somtimes.

Hey Joz. Glad to hear it's working out for you.
Agree that not veryone will have this problem.
Just letting people know it does occur. Plecos and Goldfish also
have very different water temp requirements as well.
(So - Plecos won't do well in a cold water tank).
Take care....

Thanks for the info guys :) I too have heard stories of plecos rasping on goldfish to get at their slime but luckily my one is not like that. His been a tank mate there for roughly a year and seems to be very happy like the goldies. On another note, the tank is not coldwater as it's heated at around 22-24 degrees celcius.

That is a wonderful looking tank. Is the ground cover real? Arn't goldfish partial vegetarians?

I too have large plecos, and small ones and have never seen any of them even look at another fish let alone try to eat the slime off them, as Joz has already said, sucking catfish are the ones to be wary of from what i hear, although i had one of those without problems too!
nice tanks by the way!!!

just wonder how to keep the sand clean? any good idea?
i have kept the gravel in my tank for one year. it's a nice view to watch fish looking for food in gravels. but i just removed them shortly ago, because too hard to clean those uneaten food and fish drops. i was using under gravel filter, but when i took out the filter plate from tank, there was really so much dirt in the tank bottom -- nearly all covered by black "mud"!

i erally wanna know whether the ground cover is real too!
large plecs wont cause much problems as far as stripping off slime coats.
they are far too big to even try to chase a fish, unless it's a big host fish.
I always thought goldfish suck, let alone the tanks they are kept in.
(scuba man with annoying little ornaments)
but this, this tank really blows my whole generalisation of goldfish away!
awesome job!@

Cheers guys! :D
Wangxinjia - The sand does a great job, most of the food particles stay on top and get sucked up by the filter intake. Also, the catties do a great job at disturbing the substrate as it's so light! So, it gets churned up a bit and whatever goes out gets taken by the filtration intake.
Sorry cichlidboy, the ground cover is all plastic, looks nice though hehe :p
I love goldies!
