Ive been talking to a few people and heard this a few times that meat makes fish more aggressive and that you should restrict it from their diet to a treat rather then a regular thing. Has anyone found this or got an opinion on this?

i would say it makes them more inclined to eat like they would in their natural habitat, live food would become more apealing once you give them a bloodlust so to speak, and they would be more inclined to try and consume tankmates, thats why its not a good idea to feed your breeders small live fish as they may be incluned to eat their own fry.......

I don't know about this, but I will say that in my experience feeding a healthy, varied diet often makes fish more aggressive! When fish feel happy and healthy they show their true colours, and for Cichlids in particular that's loads of fun! Ha ha!
Cheers,
Pete.

I've go the opposite thing happening in one of my tanks, my native gudgeons get all aggressive and terrortorial over the algae discs I drop in to feed the bristlnose  (even more bizzare since gudgeons are carnivores and I have trouble getting them on prepared foods)
