Hey everyone,
While I was setting up my tank the other day, I had a slight mishap when I was filling up my tank. The hose went askew and actually mixed up my gravel and soil(ADA) all over the place where now the soil is on top of the gravel.
What can I do to fix this problem since I dont want my fish(when I get some) digging it up and cloud my tank.
Should I buy more gravel and put on top? Please HELP!!

Well there's a couple of options, you could get some more gravel and cap the whole lot , or you could remove it all, dry it, and use seive to seperate the soil from the gravel.

Thanks for your response.
I think the first option would be more feesible as I dont think I would have ther patients with the second option.
Looks like I'll need another 80kg of gravel

Hope this isn't a silly question ,but how did the soil get in there?

I did the usual steps where i layered down the soil(fertilizer) then a layer of gravel and repeated the process twice again.
Now when I was filling up the tank, the hose uprooted the middle section of the tank (bear in mind my tank is a 6x2x2) therefore that section has the soil mixed with the gravel

thats true.
anyway do u think ther best solution is the cap that particular section with more gravel?
or should I wait for the plants to grow to cover most of the surface cause im looking at planting some dwarf grass which im planning to do in a couple of weeks time?
