Prices For Some Of These Fish. How Much Are They

I just want to have a fair idea how much do these fish cost in the shops and what sizes?

-Dimidiochromis strigatus
-Afra Cobue's
-Midnight Peacocks

The Dimi Strigatus colony was $160 retail.
The Afra colony was $120 retail.

Dimi Strigatus juveniles retail around $15 each

Not sure about the others.

cause those are the fish i have at the moment in my tank

3 dimi
5 afra
3 peacocks
1 frontosa

i might take out the peacocks so its less crowded and increase the chances of the dimi and afra's to breed.

The afra's will breed anywhere, and lots!

The dimi's will benefit from a quiet tank before breeding.

yup.. thats why im planning to just have in the tank the cobue's and dimi's.. i dont want it to crowded..

you know when we got the afra's off you. it spat a baby out of its mouth into the bucket.. well when i put the fish in my tank. i cant seem to find any of the afra's that has any fry in its mouth. maybe it swallowed the fry's when we were transporting it to our house..

regarding the afra..
is it 1 male and 4 females.. the male i presume is the most colourful one.. if thats correct, then theres only 1 male..

Nah I reckon there's 2 males and 3 females. The subdominant male's doesn't flare up as much as the dominant male.
Not sure which male is responsible for the constant breeding. It might be both of them, really not sure, but I think it's just the colorful male.

I bought the colony as 1 male and 4 females, but I'm pretty confident there's 2 males there.

hey marc

the dimi strigatus. i stripped the female. i have roughly around 40 healthy fry's.. they have a small sack but its cool. im using my egg tumbler..

can i ask. do the fry supposed to bounce abit but not roughly bounce around??

i also spitted out the 2 afra cobues..

a total of nearly 40 fry's. these ones are already free swimming..

I have also a midnight peacock. i got 60 fry's from her but during that time, i didnt have a egg tumbler and sadly all 60 died :(
but not the other female has a full mouth of fry. still eggs. i might wait 1-2 weeks though..
