Feeding goldfish garlic?

So i've read on several forums that garlic is beneficial to goldfish intestines, immune system etc... what do you guys think?..

if it is beneficial, how would i feed it to my goldfish?.

I feed garlic to my horse, dogs and chickens to boost their immune systems so it probably does work for gold fish too. with the chooks we just add it to their water.
