Hi Guys,

Thought I'd put some pics up of my tank. It's my first venture into fish and I'm addicted

It has a Bundy Rum theme as it sits in my bar room at home. Originally it was just gonna have Electric Yellows in it to continue the Bundy theme but I was advised to go with a much simpler community tank for my first set up.

Currently designing a cabinet & hood and am considering makng a background for it too. It runs an Aqua Vital 1200 canister filter with spray bar at the bottom along the back of the tank facing upwards to help water flow, jaegar (sp?) heater, air curtain at the back. I'm also using a top box sign from a Mr Cashman poker machine as the light at the moment (just for a bit of fun).

As posted elsewhere it houses 2 x Silver Sharks, 2 x Red Tails, 2 x Dwarf Gouramis, 2 x Gold Gouramis, 2 x Opaline Gouramis, 1 x Flying Fox, 2 x Clown Loaches, 6 x Neon Tetras and 1 x Gibbercept (beautiful fish). Looking into a 3 footer or cube tank to hold the Red Tails and a Tiger Oscar in the not too distant future.

Apologies for the poor quality pics. Will keep practicing.

Please don't hold back on any comments or critique as I'm only new to this and am loving learning up on the intricacies of maintaining aquariums.

Cheers

hey bundy, very very very cool tank it gets two thumbs up from me  . Is that real bundy in those bottles?
I am a newbie to the aquarium thing as well, have been thinking of putting a diecast model car in my tank but am afraid it will kill the fish.

Hey Blue, be real careful, cast corrosion is real toxic if i remember right, I would think twice b4 adding anything to my tank that can corrode or rust.

Haha. Nah mate. I treated those Bundy bottles the way they like to be treated long ago. They're filled with tea now.
Spoke to plenty of people about them and the general consensus was that as long as the bottles were sealed and well cleaned before going in they'd be fine.
I have very limited knowledge at this stage but I wouldn't be too keen on anything metal like a die cast car though.

hey bundy, was wondering if the plant in front of the bundy bear not drinking out of the bottle is a banana lilly?

-hope that makes sense

Hey Sharky,

Yeah it is a Banana Lilly. There's one in front of each bear but that one has gone nuts! They took a while to root and nothing much was happening with them, then all of a sudden that one started shooting up. It would be sprouting in the morning and by the time I got home from work it would have reached the top. That one probably has 8 or 9 lillies coming off it. The fish love them too. I'm gonna trim them back tonight and hope they start sprouting again.

oh good stuff, thought i was weird for a second cos one of mine in particular sprouted heaps and like you said, id leave in the morning with a normal sized plant and then come home in the afternoon and its half way up my tank! i think its a good idea to trim them because after a while mine just died off, and now its gone back to normal, just shooting off small lillies that kinda huddle around!

Nice one Bundy! You should turn your Oscar 3ft'er into a Jagermeister theme lol. Is the bundy label coming of the bottles? Because I was thinking that you could maybe contact them on so it doesnt peel off. Great setup! You'll have to show us what you do with your other tank.
