G'day all
I was on a quick business trip to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia over the weekend and filled a couple of hours by visiting the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) Aquaria. This is located near the Petronas Twin Towers (of the movie Entrapment fame) in a shopping district of KL.
The aquarium is located over two basement levels of the KLCC and so there is no natural lighting there, which of cause is fine for the fish, but not so nice for the mammels that are also housed there. One of the mammels was a miserable looking little joey where kids could have their photos taken. Poor thing never sees daylight  !!!
Anyway, back to the fish. The most impressive fish included a couple of 1.5m long Arowanas, ditto retail catfish, ginormous sting rays, sharks, scorpion fish and more. The sharks and rays are in a big tank where you can walk through a tunnel, or just stand on a conveyor and be transported around.
They also had a good collection of live spiders, including several varieties of fist sized tarantulas!!!!
Unforetunately, I didn't have a camera on me, so can't show any photos, but you can visit their web site at http://www.klaquaria.com/media.html.
Well worth the 28 Ringgit (about 10 bucks) to visit and fill in a couple of hours, if you can look past the little joey.
Cheers
