Hi All,

Mums pond is really bad, you cant see anything at all.

Its outside, unfortunatly in the sun. It doesnt have a filter, or air/fountain.

What are my options?

Shade, if not a filter connected to a UV sterilzer.
All of those will stop green water.

shade can be achieved with potted palms or something like that too if your mum likes plants, just pick plants that like full sun and no water! tree ferns are good but require lots of water and shade , so do yourself a favor and stay away from them. or maybe a small arbor or gazebo, plants are cheaper though!!

will there be any damage or fatalities if I leave it green?

Green water is usually fine for fish but you'll never see them.

I've got a pond out back with Water Lilies that cover the whole surface of the water. Plant the Lilies in plastic baskets with river pebbles. The water then stays crystal clear. Duckweed will also do the job.
