In the news today is a new item for sale for Christmas - a "fishtank" holding all of 650ml that you can connect to your iPod and use as a speaker. As if a fish wouldn't be stressed enough in such a tiny container that it needed loud music piped through!

Here's the Article in The Age about it (http://www.theage.com.au/news/technology/the-rage-of-aquarists/2007/12/15/1197740085390.html)

If anyone else is as horrified by this as I am, you might like to write to

Pets Paradise (who are apparently bundling this product with a betta): reception@petsparadise.com.au

and Pet Goods Direct: reception@petgoodsdirect.com.au

and express your opinions to them and ask them to withdraw the item from sale.

Someone on Yahoo Answers posted something regarding that. Personally I find it absolutely disgusting that someone would even think of keeping a fish in such conditions. I'm going to email them and abuse them :) Thank You for providing the email addresses.

I did some more research on it and apparently the makers of it recommend that you put some gravel\rocks of some sort at the bottom of the tank to block out the sound, which makes the amount of water for the fish even lesser.
