Can Aquarium Water Be Too Hard?

Hi Guys,

Heres a question for all you Tang and Malawi experts out there.... Can the Aquarium water be too hard? :unsure:
I tested my water the other day and the hardness has gone from about 20 drops to about 30-40 drops. I know Tangs and Malawis thrive in hard water, but when is it it too hard? I'm hoping that there is no such thing as too hard when it comes to these guys, but just thought i'd check!

Hi Emma what I have read is that the lake is around 300ppm to 1000ppm so I don't think that your water is too hard but try keep it at around min 300ppm max 600ppm as I keep my fish around there and they seem to be very healthy and breed regulary
