So mum calls up, says there is something wrong with one of the fish.

I head up there when I get a chance and this is what I find.

Its a silver dollar, the slightly bigger one of the 2. I think this one has a habbit of bumping his head. When I fed them yesterday morning he got spooked, swam a million mph and smashed into the end of the tank. This isnt the first time he has done it as dad said he seen it happen too.

What usually happens next is he's knocked out, from 5 to 15 mins. Looks dead but is still breathing.

He slowly regains his composure, basically looks like a retarded fish for a while, then he is back to normal.

I have uploaded a vid to photo bucket:

Its a large file (3 meg) but within the first 30 seconds you get the idea.

Basically he swims around in circles, generally leaning towards his right side and cant stay or swim upright.

He will tumble around and it looks like he is paralyzed on the left side. Meaning there is no real movement from his fins on the left.

When he swims straight, his head is either up or down.

Its starting to spook the other fish, the other silver dollar seems like he attacks him when he gets close. So does the convict.

He has been like this since mid day apparently.

I honestly think he has banged his head way too many times and they are massive bumps. I.e brain damaged or has damaged his central nervous system.

What should I do?

Mine used to do that all the time, some would recover , some would die, i used to give them 24 hrs and if they didn't come good i put them out of their misery unfortunately:(

Sound's like his swim bladder has shat itself (middle ear) Best to put him out of his misery, i've had to do this to a few fish in the past, sucks, but what can u do?
