Ich (white Spot)

Just introduced a bristlenose last weekend, and the past day or two I've noticed some white spots appearing on my loaches, and some genalised redness of the fins of my silver shark.

My plan of attack-

Water change
Medication
Additional Positive bacteria (cycle)

Over what period of time should I see things start to return to normal. Can people suggest medication brands that have been efficient?

Next time I introduce fish it'll be via a quarantine tank!!!

probably just a usual white spot cure will be fine.
Also raising the temp to about 28-30 will break the white spot cycle.
It can't reproduce in to warm a condition.
It tends to rear its head with cold water changes.
