Hey guys, my names Kallie im 21 and im from the NSW Centralcoast. Since i was little ive owned goldfish but about 4 weeks ago decided to go tropical. I now have 1 silver shark, 2 angel fish, a bunch of neon tetras and yesturday i bought 2 plecos. At the moment they are all in a tank which is
17.5 inches long
12 inches tall
11 inchs wide
Its a nice little fish tank. it has 2 fake plants and 2 real plants in it at the moment and it had a bit of drift wood in there aswell.
Im actually thinkn of gettin a larger tank for all those guys plus more. And then buyin this albino oscar i found in an aquarium for the smaller tank.
Anyways here are my fish....

Hi there Kallie,
nice little tank you have there, and welcome to the world of tropicals.
Just for your own sake be careful of overstocking a small tank like that, you will find that the water parameters will swing very quickly and kill your fish if you aren't careful, there are lots of posts on this site explaining almost all you need to know about setting up new tanks, like cycling your tank and maintaining correct levels of Ph etc.
what sort of filtration are you using in it?
do you do regular water changes etc?
sorry to sound so heavy, but i have seen alot of people, new to tropicals, set up tanks and not get good or the right advice, and when their fish start dying they end up giving up on a very enjoyable hobby.
SOOOOO if you have any questions just ask away and I'm sure the wealth of knowledge on this site will be more than happy to steer you in the right direction.

Hi Kallie
Before you rush out and buy that lovely albino oscar, it may be useful to do a little research on the internet, including of course at this forum ... !
Oscars while being very intelligent and responsive to their carer do grow very large!! And putting them in a 17 inch tank would not give them any room to move.
Cheers
