View Full Version : Will these fish fit?

I'm setting up a new 2ftx18"x18" tank, quite heavily planted. I want to stock it with two Blue Ram's, two Keyhole Cichlid's and 10 or so Neon Tetras. Will these fish fit in the tank, or do I need to cut down a bit?

Also, I found a decent 300W heater (Resun Titanium heater with external thermostat control) for cheap, am I able to use this in my tank? I know it's major overkill, but will it actually cause any harm (maybe cause too much localised heating or something), or will it be fine?

Thanks :)

You should be fine on all counts other than the keyhole might grow large enough to eat the neons, I'm not sure though. heater will be fine if the thermostat is set right .What sort of filtration will you be running in the tank?

Probably this (http://www.guppysaquariumproducts.com.au/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=28) filter.

that size filter will be more than sufficient for the size tank you stated, so the only other think you need to do is make sure you cycle the tank well before putting any fish in it.

Thanks for the help :) I've got a 4ft turtle tank at the moment so I will take some of that water, and also use a small internal filter that is currently running in the turtle tank to cycle.

just be careful with the water from the turtle tank, i found mine was very high in ammonia because of the size of the turtle shit i guess! I'm not sure, might pay to do a water parameter testy b4 using is all
