I bought 6 red jewels the other day and I thought I picked two males and the rest females. But it seems that the 2 males have paired up??? They spend every minute of the day next to each other and wont let any of the other red jewels (which I thought were the females) come near their end of the tank. Is their an easy way of telling a male from a female? As how do i figure out which is the male or are my fish possible gay??? I'll see if I can get a pic of them up soon.

IMO let them do their own pairing.
Generaly the males are slightly smaller and more brightly colored.Color will also intensify when breeding.

Not much happenning with it atm.
I need to do some maintenace and get either new tubes for the lights or just go and buy some High Output T5's with refectors.
Just feeling a bit lazy atm.
It seems that my other hobby seems to get the $$ spent on it first.

Excellent!
But eggs only mean there is at least one female present.
hatched eggs mean you have a breeding pair.
But really I'm sure you'll soon have young'uns..:)

Just wondering, do I need to seperate the babies at all? They have lost their little yolk sacks now so should put them in a different tank by themselves and if so how?

Ok ,a late reply here but you'll more than likely have figured it out by now.
Not really, pretty much no need for separation for a while.
Though if they start to look as if they want to breed again real soon do it then.

You will only need one pair, they breed like convicts!
