Hi every one - I am from Country Vic (a couple of hours from Melbourne)

I have one 18" tall vase with 2 gold fish sitting on my kitchen table.

a 2' tank with course gravel substrate, a small bit of driftwood and several rocks, some greenery growing (dont ask me what kind)
In this tank I have 12 neon tetras, 2 sword tails, about 4 platys, about 4 molly's one bristle nose plecco and one CAE (Chineese algae eater). I think thats about all in my little tank - oh, forgot about the fry. I have about 10 babies, I think possibly mollys, but could also be plattys

On the weekend I purchased (2nd hand) a 6' tank (450 litres). That is currently cycling (I used some water from small tank, and also some sponge from filter of small tank), but getting close to done.
I currently have in that 2 mollys, 2 plattys, 2 angel fish and 2 albino bristle nose catfish.
I am changing water every 2 days (or have since I have had it). This tank has a course sand as substrate. I also have some bigger driftwood and some small greenery growing and some bigger rocks.

The water parameters are good - hasnt really changed from when I set up and put a couple of fish in.

I will post some pics of my set ups when I get my big tank up and running propperly

anyway - thats about me in here, I will be sure to post some stuff in the other forums

cheers
Leone

Hi Leone and welcome to TFT, good to see you have caught the aquarium bug like the rest of us!!
you sound like you know what you are doing aswell so thats a good thing, cycling that tank is a must so just be careful as it will spike in ammonia and nitrite so just keep an eye on it b4 adding too many "good" fish. What sort of filtration are you running in the tanks? Personally I would remove any fish you aren't willing to lose for at least the next 3 weeks then when you know it is fully cycled you can add them back in, just my opinion.

thanks for your advise Dazz - I have left the fish in that I had put in... 1 - it is almost impossible to catch a fish that is in a 6' tank..lol and 2 - they are all settled in well, I have been checking the water parameters and they are still stable. I will wait another week or 2 before Iget any more fish tho..
