Hi My name is Sahara and im from the uk but currently in melbourne. I have had fish since i was a kid and now have my first salt water tank, which i have now had for 7 months..had a few problems and fish losses ;( whilst setting it up but all good (except water as its 40' dgs atm).

65 ltr tank with internal and external filter

I have live rock

1 Blk and White Saddle CLown
Pair Ocellaris Clown
Pair SPine cheek clown
1 lawnmower
1 Longnose Hawk Fish

1 Pink tipped white anemone
1 Crispy Magnifica Anemone
1 Magnifica anemone peach

Bristle worms ( have heard these are a pest so trying to get rid but they are hard to catch)
and a sea cucumber i think very bizarre looking thing.

Good Selection of corals

base is crushed coral

so thats it hopeing to add an arrowhead wrasse as i lost one a week ago, but if anyone has any suggestions about setup etc please let me know.

Hello and welcome to TFT Sahara, hope you will find some useful info on the site, not sure how many saltys we have on the forum but I'm sure you will be assisted if any one has info to help u , and of course you can help anyone else.
Would love to see some pics of your tank, sounds great.

I think you have a major overstocking problem to begin with, and I would wager that you also have a problem with temperature fluctuation and dissolved oxygen. The majority of aquariums in Melbourne will not recommend marine tanks under 120L, mostly for the reasons I have mentioned above. One of the truest rules to fish keeping is, "The bigger it is, the easier it is to maintain". In a volume as small as yours: Toxins accumulate at higher concentrations faster, temperature fluctuations are more extreme and occur more frequently, and dissolved oxygen levels are generally much lower.

If you're going to do marines, in my opinion, do it properly from the beginning and it will save you soooooooooo much trouble later on. Get yourself at least 120L of tank space (excluding sump or trickle system volume), and a good skimmer(s) and lighting package. Look after your water, and you'll look after your fish ;)
