HI all,
Been keeping general tropical fish for a while but was making some recent murmurings about some rainbows when I got lead up this native creek without a boat. Id never realised just how many terrific native fish we have. Then I found this forum so Im hoping ill get some answers.

Question is are any of these wee beasties available and if so where?

And then how hard are they to keep?

The LFS's maybe have a few rainbows but its rare and I have certainly never seen the other native ones i have found on such sites as

Hi there finsnthings, I absolutely love watching my rainbows, they are so lively and active, i think they have been the easiest fish i have ever kept, I get all my fish from Rayonne Aquarium now, I have gotten my first lot of livefish.com.au but it wasn't worth the headache.
Its hard to get alot of variety in the shops so i still look around all the aquariums but if i find a species that i want i can get my LFS to get them in for me if they are available.
heres another site for you:

this site is a hamburger with the lot! very technical though.
hope this helps

You could also try the guys at ANGFA (Australia and New Guinea Fish Association), they may know where you can obtain specific species, or you could become a member and go with them on a field trip to catch your own!
