OK Im noobish, Im a fiddler, I listen but often find if you listen long enough and to enough people its gets contradictory and it boils down to "it works for me" not so sure about you.
So all I believe you can do is read lots, think hard, do lots and learn.
Ive had small tanks for a while and generally been very lucky with them with regards to death ratios and disease etc. I now however have a "real" tank. Its a 5ft ( a six wouldnt fit along the only spare wall we had). Ive had it now for almost 3 months which I know means nothing in aquarium times. But I love it.
I have some mates with tanks but I dont think any of them spend the time I do surfing and reading and fidlin:) I constantly find myself re evaluating and re thinking my setup and situation, my failures and successes. Yeha I possibly think too much.
Anyway found this site whilst looking or should I say getting hooked on, our wonderful native fish. Ill never 4wd thru a creek again with the same gusto and lack of care for our finned brothers:o. Just amazing what's on our door step.
My tank is best described as a community tank.
I have two angels, lemon tetras, red phantoms, kribs, BN, Clown loachs, yoyos and a eupterus. I wont say how many of each cause I know Ill no doubt incur the wrath of the overstocked police:p I got given some fish, given some plants yadayada. However we tend to move fish around and generally try to keep things balanced. It will all settle as I will as we learn on. My daughter has a small tank 2ft and my son yabbies. So water n fins everywhere.
