*hyperventalates*

We have bristlenose babbies!!!!

I was rearranging our large tank to make room for two of our other fish (we're having furniture delivered tomorrow), I picked up the cave, shuck out the male and female, removed the cave...and there they were, wriggling around in their tiny tiny tiny tiny tinyness!

I can't believe how fast they bred!!!! We're so not prepared, we have no net divider thingy! OMG! I'm going to have to totally reorganise all our tanks! I'm just so glad they all run on the same water, so all the levels are the same.

I'm terrified enough I killed a bunch of them when I removed them out of the tank. How long do you think they could survive out of water? What do I feed them? I've been told Cuccuumber is a good thing to fatten them up on? And when they're big enough...will the local aquariam buy them off me? Or should I sell them privatly?

woo hoo again!!!! put some zucchini in there , cucumber fouls the tank i found, if you have a grow out tank its easier, i has a 2 footer i used to grow them out in, it was alot of work though! i had a bare tank with just a box filter, i siphoned off the poo on the bottom daily and replaced it with water from the tank they were bred in.
I found wen i took them to the LFS to sell them it wasn't worth it, but if u can grow them to 3 cm and sell them privately u will do better. I just give mine away now!
cant be bothered with the grow out tanks!

Thanks for that, we have a piece of cucumber in with them for the moment, but we'll be going down the supermarket in a moment to get some zucchini. We moved out Kribensis into a bigger grow out tank as they have ALOT of fry, and put the bristle nose and fry into the Kribensis old grow out tank.

They're only small tanks atm, but we're moving over the next few weeks and once we're settled in they'll be moving into a bigger tank.

just remember with a large qty of fry comes a large qty of waste!
keep your water clean!
also I'm not too sure on this but i think u should watch the salt buildup also if you are feeding live brine shrimp?

They're doing great and growning rapidly. We're going to let them grow a bit more first before we off load any, they're only about 19mm atm. But I'll definatly let you know. How many are you looking at getting?

And that's Wombat. The tank is getting gravel vacked reguarly and has a great filtration system. I will get John do to another levels check tomorrow when he gets home.

I saw them for the first time in over three weeks today! They've grown so much since I last saw them! I didn't know they had such difinition even when they're so small. I already have a favourite, which I refuse to sell, the edge of it's dorsal fin is entirely white. (S)He's so beautiful!

They're almost 2cm. I would have no idea how much to sell them for at this age? What's the ideal age to sell them at? And how big do they have to be before you can?

4cm or bigger is the best size to sell them at

Well we now have three lots of bristle nose baby, they're breeding like rabbits! They have a 2ft tank all to them selves. They're going well and getting bigger every day.

I know! We had to move the parents into the tank with the cave they have been breeding in. They were in with our oscars but I was too scared the oscars were going to find the babies and eat them.

Bumped is just a term for moving the thread back up towards the top of the new posts area..:)

Typically done in For sale threads where people want to keep exposure on their threads..
