Hello,
I'm currently using a 29 Gallon Salt water tank with Crushed Coral. I plan on putting Lepoard Puffers in my tank but it's currently empty because I'm new to this and I dont have any idea what type of Filter or Equiptment I should grab or what will be easiest?

marine aint that hard once you get into the swing of it, but it can be expensive depending on what you want in your tank.
firstly you want to get yourself a decent external canister filter (fluval, ehiem, ect) and a protien skimmer and some live rock. you will need to have the tank set up and running for a few weeks before you introduce the fish, i bought a damsel to cycle my tank as they are cheap, tough as nails, and a nice looking fish !! i would type more, but im half asleep at the moment, will type more later!
hope this helps!

Hi
I agree the marine aquarium hobby is a very expensive hobby and not worthwhile cutting costs when setting up, do it right the first time. Canister filters are not used very often now in the keeping of Marine aquarium's. Most marine aquarist's nowadays use sumps with Deep Sand Beds and Refugiums. They are much better short and certainly for the longer term. Protein skimmers are a must and no skimping on cost for a quality one either.
Not real good cycling a tank with a live fish either, better just to feed the tank as though their is fish in the tank and the cycle will start anyway. If you are new to the hobby I suggest you do plenty of research before purchasing any equipment as mistakes can and will be costly.
Cheers
Tony.

Yes! it's expensive hobby! dont try to go cheap, coz you will end up spending more money for ongoing maintenance and headache...
but once is all done, it's really not difficult to keep!!
Good luck and i love puffers!!

Stay away from the canister filters. They are more headaches then they are worth in the marine world.
Get yourself a good protein skimmer as said above. Either a hang on or a internal/external if you have a sump. If you can't afford one, then do your water change every few days.
I think it is just mean to cycle your tank with fish.. they do stress out. Just feed the tank as said above.
Get yourself some life rocks. They are great for filtration. They will seed your sand bed as you cycle your tank.
Spend some time to do your research. Don't try to go cheap because you will end up spending more money in the long run.
Ask lots of questions before spending......
