I'm at the sump filter time now for my new 6x2x2 reef tank and am scouring the net for sump designs. Does anyone have anything they've designed or used and recommend?
Happy to build one, but don't know what size or design I should go with.
I hate being the newbie! I'm so close to going back to Cichlids at the moment! :)

Easiest way to build one in a 3 or 4 section design. First step is the pre-filter sponges, sandwiched between two plates that allow even despersion of water over the biofilter. You can add in live rock sections and everything underneath that, even fit your skimmers on a shelf. If you like mate, I could sketch a basic one up for you, and then you can modify it as you see fit.

Thanks for the advice and offer woodsy, but my uncle came over tonight and I think I have it under control now.
I'll drill the tank this weekend (FUN!), and start plumbing. Have to order a few bits tomorrow. Aquamedia Turboflator 1000MSL, and 2 x Aquamedic Oceanrunner OR6500's. Already have the halide's fitted so not far off making some noise :)

Ok this is sitting under my tank atm disconnected.
When I ran my tank heavily populated it was great except it kept dissapating CO2 waty too fast for my plants.
Its in two sections because of the bracing under the tank.
The two sections are connected via 2"piping
Usually when operating the is more filter mdeia between the glass plates in the second tank.
I'm sure that for a marine setup you'd be wanting to add more goodies to one.
