I've never owned a marine set up before.
Let alone run one.
But I have a rough idea of how they work.

What I have in mind is an Aquaone A380 with plenty of soft corals and anemones, along with cool little shrimp and a starfish or something along the lines.
Or else, a tank full of soft coral and anemones with a ribbon eel.
Could someone please run me through what I need to get?
I'm trying to come up with a budget.

THanks.

you need to go bigger! you will probably run into problems along the way it will run into thousands of dollars but i would like to see it be done

The lights in those things are not good for corals either. My advice would be to go for a 3' Berlin system with T5 lighting. Coburg Aquarium is probably the closest marine supplier to you (I could be wrong though), so I'd suggest going in and getting a free quote ;)

Shop around once you get an idea of what you want though. Mentone is MUCH cheaper than Coburg, but you have to travel.

also from what i understand, ribbon eels can be tough to keep alive, so your probably better starting with something a little more hardy, but only thing is none of the other types are as colourful as ribbon eels.

but hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained , thats how i got started, straight into the deep end, but i was lucky my lfs was very helpful !
